The CBOA would like to congratulate Sergio Giordano for his selection by the IWBF as one of six Referee Supervisors at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Sergio is a long time CBOA member, and mentor to new officials, currently working at the ACAC level.

The Calgary Basketball Officials Association is very pleased to announce that long time CBOA member, John Weiland, will be inducted to the Basketball Canada Hall of Fame, class of 2019.
John remains a fixture in the Calgary basketball scene, and many of our members will recall the advice or encouragement they received from him after a high school or club basketball game.
However, John's impact on the game is truly international and long lasting. He officiated international basketball for over 20 years, including FIBA Eurobasket (1985) and the 1988 Seoul Olympics, as well as 17 CIS championships. Awarded the Canada Basketball J.A Wilcox Award, and inducted to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 (among numerous other honours), John Weiland remains involved in referee development as a national referee coach.
